KAMPALA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Ghana's U-20 women's national team head coach Charles Sampson has warned host Uganda ahead of the decisive second leg of their FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup 2026 qualifier.

The Black Princesses, who hold a 2-1 advantage from the first leg, will face Uganda on Saturday at FUFA Kadiba Stadium in the crucial return match.

Speaking to Xinhua after the team's arrival in Uganda on Thursday, Sampson said his side was fully focused on securing qualification for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

"We played from the earlier rounds, and this is the final match that determines if we qualify for the big stage. We are here with the mindset to increase the margin of the tie," Sampson said.

The Ghana coach acknowledged the challenge of facing Uganda on home soil but expressed confidence in his players.

"Uganda should be aware that we know what to expect, and my players are very prepared and ready," he added.

Uganda head coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes insisted that her team had the ability to overturn the deficit and qualify for the tournament.

"We have come this far, and we know this match on Saturday will determine if we book a place in the World Cup or not. The players are very ready and looking forward to giving their best on the pitch to get a positive result," Botes said.

Uganda reached the fourth and final round of the qualifiers after defeating Namibia 5-0 on aggregate in the second round and overcoming Zambia 2-1 on aggregate.

Besides Uganda, Tanzania is the other team from the CECAFA zone still in contention for qualification.

Four African teams will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland.
